The South Carolina Crisis Negotiators Association was formed in 1993 by several officers from City, County, State, Federal, Corrections Agencies, and Private Security. The first meeting was held at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. There were 91 attendees at that meeting and every year it has grown. The meetings are now held in Myrtle Beach, S. C. during the month of October.
Our goal is to encourage the exchange of ideas and information, assisted research and development of new methods and techniques, to provide a high level of professionalism among Crisis Negotiators, to actively participate in upgrading and improving the Criminal Justice System in South Carolina from within the system and for the Public at large, and to establish a professional code of ethics.
